Chill Out With a Northwest Rafting Adventure

As I’ve come learn from living here in Seattle the past few years, this is one of those special places that offers myriad appealing and accessible outdoor activities.  As an avid outdoorsman, it’s one of things I treasure about the Emerald City.

I’ve enjoyed cycling around Lake Washington, running around Green Lake and hiking beautiful Lake Annette.  Always looking for a new adventure, I was ready for something different.   At a corporate retreat I had a blast white water rafting in Colorado some time back; I was excited to discover guided trips in our own back yard.

From the owner of Blue Sky, Terri Sarver, I learned that one of the top ten rafting destinations in the country is only 2 hours from Seattle on the Wenatchee River.  “It’s headwaters are in the heart of the Central Cascades Mountain range less than 10 miles East of Leavenworth,” she enthused.   This was news to me!

Leavenworth is one the most popular travel destinations in the area and home to the best local wineries, a point not lost on Blue Sky. “We have decided to combine the best of the Northwest this year with ‘Wenatchee White Water & Wine’,” says Sarver.  “We are offering a unique, all-inclusive package that includes 2 hours rafting followed by a delicious top sirloin barbecue steak dinner and wine tasting.”

Over the past 28 years, the fit, personable outdoors enthusiast, has helped to create lifelong memories for Blue Sky customers by consistently delivering outstanding service, investing in top-notch equipment and employing experienced, friendly tour guides who put fun and safety first.

Blue Sky has received excellent reviews on Yelp, a community website devoted to a description and review of local places, and is a preferred vendor for Microsoft, Columbia Tower and the Girl Scouts among others.

In addition to Wenatchee expeditions, Blue Sky also hosts guided trips down other rivers in the area including the Skagit, Methow, Tieton, White Salmon and Yakima with some half-day and overnight camping options.

The weather is heating up; why not try something new on your next trip to Seattle?  White water rafting is a chance to cool off, enjoy a beautiful, serene setting and create memories -- as well as those fun Facebook photo opportunities – with friends, family and colleagues.
